Gum Tragacanth
Gum Tragacanth is a binder for soft pastels. Mix it with water and Preservative to make a soft gel solution that may be used in the homw manufacture of soft pastels made to individual colours and specifications.
Method: Leave to swell for at least 2 hours or preferably overnight. Mix to a smooth consistency. If you wish to keep your binder for any length of time it is advised at this point to add a few drops of Preservative and store in an air tight jar.
